Colombia. The French multinational Sodexo has more than 427.000 collaborators globally and in Colombia with more than 10.500. For this reason, within its social responsibility project it is helping to reduce unemployment in the country through training and employment inclusion for the people who need it most.
Only during last November unemployment in Colombia grew 0,9% compared to the same period of 2016, which represents 2,09 millions of people without work in the country. For this reason, the Sodexo Foundation, with the collaboration of the National Apprenticeship Service (SENA), trained 814 people in 2017.
In this initiative, programs focused on specialized cleaning were included; basic cooking and nutritional care, and diet for patients, this, with the aim of generating knowledge that will serve in the labor market and thus reduce unemployment.
Of these 814 trained people, 322 were hired and are now Sodexo collaborators. The other 492, according to a monitoring report that the company carries out every three months, are already located in different companies.
