When administration buildings it is, we can not ignore the value they bring the different technologies that are part of a property. Communication systems, computers, surveillance, access control, lighting, air conditioning, among others, are today a fundamental part of any kind of property, and is work of the Facility Manager not only maintain these systems in good condition, but also take their potential to better perform their duties.
One of the great advantages of these systems are the amount of data and information they can offer, but is in us use that information to improve performance of a property.
Software video management offering, for example, counting people to know the daylight hours with increased flow of visitors in a mall, or identification plates of the cars that arrive daily to a corporate building, you can used to allocate more staff to clean common areas or streamline recurring income users.
Similarly, software building automation can provide information about the average energy consumption in a particular area, or the dates of the last maintenance performed.
In short, the possibilities are almost endless, but the question is what are we doing with that information ?, how can we improve processes with the data? If as managers of buildings have not yet been raised these concerns, this may be a good time to do so.
